Day 107 - Monterey - San Francisco, California, USA

Day 107 – 23rd September 2005 -8:00 GMT Total Miles 17114

Checked out of the hotel and went to the Del Monte shopping centre across the road as we needed to find the address of the hostel in San Francisco as we did not have internet access to look it up. Eventually we parked outside the Best Western hotel and got a wireless connection. We then had a quick drive around Monterrey before re-joining route one along the coast.

We drove up to Santa Cruz and had a look around then carried on into San Francisco. We found the hostel and the staff seem really friendly. Our room is huge and has a massive double bed and a Jacuzzi in it. We then had a walk through China Town and down to the water front.

We walked past all the piers and then visited Pier 39 where we stopped for lunch and spend a while watching all the Sea Lions.

We then carried on up to Fisherman’s Wharf and looked at the shops. Then made our way to the top of Nob Hill and walked down Lombard street the crookedest street in the world. We then made our way back to the hostel for the night.
