Day 1028 – Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Day 1028 – 31st March 2008 +6:00 GMT
Had a walk around the city, went to the Reunification Palace but got there just after 11am it it is shut from 11am – 1pm so we stood outside and took a few photos then had a walk up to Notre Dame Cathedral.

We then visited the old post office and then walked along Dong Khoi which is the shopping and dining road.
We had some food then took a walk along the river and Jill got fitted for a dress which she wants made. We then visited Ben Thanh Market which is a building holding hundreds and hundreds of stalls, selling the usual crafts and clothes.

We then went back to the hotel for a siesta. In the evening we had a walk around Pham Ngu Lao area which is where we were staying, we got some Mexican food here also. Ho Chi Minh city is much nicer than Hanoi and is more western it has a much in the way of shops and restaurants. It has a population of around 6 million although it is not capital.
